Special Task Force on First Nations Relations — Final Report

Special importance was placed on the balance of the design of the First Nations Task Force Final Report, whose aim was to community to the regional board the importance of reconciliation not only as a cultural goal but as an economic one. Capital Regional District Corporate Annual Reports

The award-winning Capital Regional District Annual Reports highlight the services and achievements of the regional government each year, touching on unique challenges and opportunities. In each report I created and then updated infographics pertinent to the region each year and each report featured several of my own photos as well. These reports went on to receive awards from the GFOA.

CRD Financial Statements

A unique feature of the award-winning financial statements are having the cover have the ability to become panoramic when all of the main reports are placed next to each other. Since 2017, each report features a different area of the capital region. Each financial statement is published in the year after the year it represents. Most recent financial statement was created in the year 2020.

CRD Green Campaigns -

Various Environmental Protection and Water Conservation projects from 2020 to 2022: Biodiversity Challenge, Strive for 5, It’s a Toilet, not a Trashcan, Live Green, Invasive Species, Make Great Compost and more. Traditional print and innovative digital projects including the organization’s first instagram stories, Youtube and Cineplex pre-roll, web takeovers, vector and digital hand drawn animation, illustration, and animated gifs and more. Often the goal is to reach capital regional target audiences through colour, fun and diversity while still being concise and appropriate.

 


Migratory Bird Sanctuaries Guide
for the Urban Sanctuaries Project

Design of the Migratory Bird Sanctuaries outreach materials for the Urban Sanctuaries Project for the Capital Regional District (2016). This project highlighted the migratory bird sanctuaries across the capital region and with featured a capital region map (download here), and separate highlight pages for each sanctuary (sample of one here). This project was in coordination with several bird protection groups across the district. Learn more about the Urban Sanctuaries Project here, which features links to all the maps, and more. 


Feed the land, not the landfill

Kitchen scraps guide for distribution across the capital region, with space left at the bottom for individual collectors to add specific information. All icons were uniquely drawn for this project, with a style meant to be friendly to the local community including children.

CRD 50th Anniversary Quilt Project

A booklet highlighting the 50th Anniversary Quilt project, which brought together 33 members from the quilting community to design a regional quilt celebrating the capital region. The quilt is composed of 28 unique blocks that weave a tapestry of the capital region’s stunning landscapes and showcase our community of communities. Each of the 13 municipalities and three electoral areas is represented by one block. The CRD also worked with Tsawout First Nation artists to design three blocks for the quilt (2016 & 2017). Download a small size version here. The booklet was printing on environmentally friendly paper. 

CRD 50th ANNIVERSARY Plaque

 The CRD 50th anniversary Plaque created in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Capital Regional District. It was unveiled at the CRD Event in the Square, Sept 2016. See a two minute video about the event here, the plaque can be seen briefly at the beginning and end of the video.  The Plaque needed to be elegant, fit the style of the 625 Fisgard building and be durable for the long term. 


SEAFLORA PRISTINE. WILD. ORGANIC.

Series of Tradeshow and Spa display sized posters for Seaflora Wild Organic Seaweed Skincare. Creation of branding vision, tagline and marketing strategy.


SCOUNDRELS, ECCENTRICS & ORIGINALS

Book Design: Tales from the Vault: Scoundrels, Eccentrics & Originals. Funded by the Greater Victoria Public Library, this collection featured the lifetime work of local historian Stephen Ruttan. Work included the print book, e-book and promotional invitations, bookmarks and other materials. 


WAY WEST COAST RADIO Limited

Limited edition poster and t-shirt design for CFUV 101.9FM Victoria's Independent Radio,
playing off the slogan "Way West Coast". This design featured various radio programming names in different
typographies to create a west coast-inspired eclectic collage style.
